A productive day off:)

Another snow day???

So school was canceled again this morning at 5 am. I heard my phone go off, and of course immediately was awake, so I had to just run and see (with my heart pounding in my ears)...and to my amazement CANCELED! Don't get me wrong, I love having an extra day to myself, but I had trouble getting back to sleep after the call. My brain was just running rapid with the thoughts of everything I can/should do with this gift of time.  Organize my closets is on my list, along with hopping on the treadmill and so on. Now at this point, Day 4 of snow days, I am running out of things to do. I hate driving in this junk, so I wait ever so patiently for the hubby to get home to drive me to and from wherever I think I need to go. Needless to say, I have been working on some school things for the Valentine's Day. Here is a cute FREEBIE I made. I am trying to decide which one I will use for my kinders, and I think it will be whatever I can find in Targets dollar section:) So here you go!

HaPpY sNoW dAy To Me!

Well this is day 3 of being snowed in. We had last Friday off as an ice day, Monday as a snow day, and today as a snow/freezing cold day! It is so nasty out (like -30 with the windchill) that I do not want to leave the house. Not to mention it is 3pm and I am still in my pajamas;) So now my entire house been cleaned from top to bottom (I'm talking even polishing floorboards clean) I figured it is time to do a little work. My idea of doing work is Pintrest. So here are some cute things that I will do this week (if we go back) or maybe next week. I am so thankful for those generous teachers that share their hard work and ideas with the rest of us! So here are some Groundhog's Day ideas...

This is such a cute poem that I am going use in the student's poetry journals. Here is where I found it:

And if there is any excuse for a sweet treat I'm there!

Tomorrow is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. I struggle with how to explain to my kinders exactly how important Dr. King truly was. My district decided that instead of taking the day off, we would use that time and teach about Dr. King. I know that I can not fit in everything that I want the kiddos to take away in just one day, so I decided to plan a whole week of it.  I have put together this literacy pack that I will use next week:)
